Guess who became a recruitment counselor this summer for Fall Recruitment? ME! I was very lucky to be selected to be a Recruitment Counselor for this fall Recruitment week at UAFS! The new members were amazing (My group , TEAM EMILY) and we now DG has the biggest chapter at UAFS. Let me just say if you get the chance to become a recruitment counselor... you should so do it! Disaffiliating may not be the best thing in life, but very worth it.There is nothing like seeing both sides of recruitment and helping the young women decided what works best for them. We had a very successful recruitment and can't wait for the next one! YAY! The bottom picture if of the DG recruitment counselors. PI CHI LOVE. Great times with my sisters!
DG PI CHI'S
Lesson learned: Leading a group of women that look to you for guidance and complete honesty keeps you grounded as to what recruitment truly is all about. It was a challenge, but well worth it. So here's my advise. If you are involved in Greek Life, be panhellenic and show your new potential members how Greek women support "Going Greek". Remember "Do Good".
P.s. It was a great day getting to go back to my chapter and wearing my letters though! ;) Nothing like going home. 'For hope, For strength, For Life' - DG
So much to do...so little time!

Question of the hour
Why did you write a bucket list. I mean why do this at a young age...?
I can't tell you how many times I've been asked that question. It doesn't bother me to tell them the story of my friend and I beginning this since we were young. However, making this bucket list isn't just because of a tradition, rather its to remind me where I want to go in life and how to get there. It takes alot for anyone to sit down and write down their dreams, passions, and their hopes , but it takes even more to actually attempt every single dream, passion, and hope you've wrote. This list reminds you everyday that THIS is where you want your life to go and it will keep reminding you until you finally cross that item off. This isn't about just writing down something and planning for someday to do it....this is a list that should challenge you to do the unthinkable. To find moments to go out of your comfort zone to explore what you could have missed if you didn't. To conquer your fears my challenging yourself...but truly CHALLENGE yourself. There is times where you will find yourself thinking why? why do this? or Can i really do this?. The answer is always in fate. It amazes me that when I reach a new item on my list, I learn something new about life and I find that certain people are put in my life for maybe just a moment or for a lifetime. There's always a moment in each process of the items that you realize what lesson you were meant learn.
So here's my answer. I do this because one day I found myself lost. I found myself wondering why not do what i love, why not try something new, why not ..even though it scares me. I take this list extremely serious because even if I'm just 21.. we don't have every day guaranteed to us. I know you might hear that alot these days, but have you truly understood that? You have this one life, this one time to do what you love. To build the stories of a lifetime and adventure to one day tell your grand children. So live it and understand you only get this one chance to do it all.

Bucket List Item #7
#7 Join a Sorority/Make it :)
Oh the famous number seven. This one was quite interesting to go through and I particularly found my self not wanting to do...at the beginning. It was Spring semester 2009 when it came to mind that this year I would have to accomplish what I dreaded...Rushing for a Sorority. I find it quite funny saying those words because if you meet me now you would understand why those words are so amusing. Because it was Spring 2009 Rush Week was over and at the time I wasn't aware of the sororities Continuous Open Bidding so Fall 2009 was the semester I would have to go for it. Since I didn't want to do this alone I decided to convince my friend Dani to rush with me. Well I say convince, but it was more like "Hey we're rushing this week, here's what to sign, what we have to wear and the time and dates." I like to believe that's what truly happened, however Dani will tell you other wise ;). Going back to my main point here, Fall 2009 soon came around and Rush Week was finally here. At the University of Arkansas- Fort Smith Rush Week consisted of three days mainly over the weekend and If I were to write about every day, this would be 5 pages long so I will save you from that. However I will tell you my favorite day..Day 1.
Day 1 was my favorite day because that day while I was standing in line, wondering why I'm I always the first person in line and wishing I could just go to the back of the line, was actually the day I meet the DG sister, Amanda Chavez, who made me want to go DG by just a second of talking. Later on after getting the Bid for Delta Gamma, I got my wonderful BIG Kelli Muse who is amazing and likes to dance in the car just like me! Not only that, but my Great Great ended up being Amanda Chavez! My life is literally full of Delta Gamma and I wouldn't have it any other way. Some of those girls have become my best of best friends and can safely say that some of my Sisters will be in my wedding.
So here's my advise for you...challenge yourself and you will be surprised to find out that what you once might have thought as impossible could very well turn into a possibility. Remember, always give something a chance.

Bucket List Item #1
#1 Take a Spontaneouse Trip.
Couldn't have had it any other way, but to take a trip to New Orleans with some of my great friends and sisters. We literally were watching Pretty Little Liars, then GREEK on abc Family and then BAM!...we were going to the SUGAR BOWL.
Pretty Little Liar's/GREEK Watch Party 7p.m.:
In the middle of the GREEK episode...it began
"Guy's we should go somewhere, we have no school this week!"
"Lets go to fayettville guys?" - Everyone
"No lets go to the SUGAR BOWL!" - Hayley Carter
Everyone stared at each other for a split second trying to figure out if everyone else also thought that was a great idea...
"I'll book the tickets right now..they're only 47 dollars and hotel we is...."- Jordan Bozeman
"I can drive"- CC
Once again everyone stared at each other waiting for someone to say the magic words..
"LETS GO!!!" - I've yet to figure out if it was all of us who said this..
Then it began.
Ticket purchasing done. Book hotel done. Picking up Patrick Sullivan and saying lets go to the sugar bowl done. Directions done. Everyone's bosses called..done.
With our Arkansas gear, tickets in hand,Ford Focus ready to go, Jeep ready to go, our "I can't believe we are actually doing this" moments, and clock striking midnight... we left for one of the best trips we all every had.
Here's my advise...if there is ever a situation in which you have the chance to do something unforgettable, fun, and with the people who you call your best friends or sisters or brothers...GO. Promise you..taking a chance like this was definitely worth it.
